KYOTO 1
|
|
I went to Kyoto with my sister last weekend. We left Tokyo at 11pm on Friday and arrived in Kyoto at 7am on Satuaday. We took an expressway bus. It was my first time to take an expressway bus, so I was excited.
<DAY 1>
Ichizawa-hanpu: a shop which is famous for bags
Chion-in temple: the head temple of the pure land sect of Japanese Buddhism
Maruyama-koen: the oldest park in Kyoto
Koudaiji temple: we had a glass of green powdered tea

dinner

my sis and i met mayuko the day before yesterday. mayuko, my sis and i lived together for 2 years. now she lives in Kanagawa with her sis.
we went to a famous cafe and had dinner. then we shopped and went to Starbucks. i like having some coffee outside in the night, so we had a chat over a cup of coffee on the patio.
she gave me a birthday present! it was Baumkuchen named Villonette Gruner Apfel. (can't write German!) thanks mayuko!!

The rear tire got punctured by a sharp stone.

i went home to see my parents the day before yesterday and stayed 2 nights.
yesterday, mom and i went shopping with my gramma and aunt. when we came back to a parking lot after shopping at a kinda do-it-yourself store, mom found she had got a flat tire  there were no repair shops around there, so she went to look for someone who could fix the flat tire at the store. fortunately she did find a shop clerk who could do it. after he finished fixing, mom gave him money in return. but he didn't accept it! it was insignificant sum though. he said, "thank you but i can't accept it. i consider it an honor if you would come to our store again.". we had no words to thank you... he was a very nice person.

today is the beginning of the consecutive holidays!! i have every Thursday off, and i have no school from Friday to Monday since the campus festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday!! 5 days off in a row:horay:
last night i met one of my best friends from high school. she's studying law. i took her to the italian restaurant since it's my favorite restaurant. i went there on October 24th with my family and i totally liked the cozy atmosphere and the delicious dish. anyway, we ordered a large pizza and shared it. after that we went to a cafe and talked about the latest news about ourselves over cakes. I really enjoyed hearing about her male friend whose granddad or grand mother is a Dutch.
i'm going to Kyoto next weekend  i can enjoy the changing colors of autumn leaves there. the leaves will turn really red in a week i guess. can't wait!!

shopping and picnic

today was the day made for a picnic
my sis and I took miso onigiri or rice balls, English muffins and whole-grain bagels to the Inokashira park. on the way to the park, we got prepared food. eating lunch in the park was a lot of fun
After that, we shopped for about 5 hours. used clothing stores that I wanted to go were not so bad. My sis got a muffler at one of the used clothing stores. it cost only 800 yen(about 8 bucks). great deal! I didn't buy anything there, but I got a jacket, a sweater, and a knit cap at my favorite shop and also I got skin moisturizer. I spent so much money in a day 0) I did it again!!
i wanna go to Tokyo Disneyland... special event "Christmas Fantasy" will start from tomorrow!!! but it's too early to go there, isn't it? I'm not in the mood for Cristmas cuz Christmas is still 7 weeks away

 Happy Halloween
I went to Matsudo(Chiba) to see one of my best friend, Mio yesterday  She picked me up at Matsudo station, and we went to the campus festival of her uni with her friend, Yukiko. It was raining and freezing cold though...
Mio and I got suigyoza or steam-baked meat pie as a freebie coz the seller was Mio's friend And also, when we had a cocktail at a jazz cafe, I got it for free b/c again, the seller was Mio's friend!! What luck!! I spent no money there. After walking around for 3 hours, we went to Mio's apartment.
We waited for president Mario (our friend his nickname.) who went to the same juniour high at Mio's apartment for 3 hours since we were supposed to have dinner together. To tell the trueth, Mio and I had light meal before he came cuz we got hungry but we three went to a chinese restaurant by his car as scheduled. After dinner, Mio and I kept talking until 4:30 AM:-D He was sleeping though.
I feeｌ pain in my abdominal muscle again... Both Mio and President Mario made me laugh!! We had a blast

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

|
today I celebrated my 21st birthday with my sis and 5 friends we had a party at my apartment!! I made a broccoli quiche, mashed potatoes, rice balls, oinarisan or fried bean-curd stuffed with boiled rice, and taco salad with my sis, Yu and Noriko.I. Yu brought guacamole, and karaage which is kinda fried chicken seasoned with soy saurce. and my sis made a birthday cake it looked really cute and I did like it everyone liked it!!
we talked and laughed a lot now I feel pain in my abdominal muscles... I laughed too much!! anyway we had a blast!!!
I love my friends  they are sooo funny and always make me happy  Thank you!! I'm so glad to have friends like you guys and thanks for helping me with preparing my birthday party, yukako(my sis)  It was a dream day

my dad made jam out of pears and apples last week, and brought them on Sunday He gets excited about making jam these days Today my mom e-mailed a photo of fig jam that he made today!! It looks yummy I wanna try it.
