italian restaurant!!
|
|
my parents came to our apartment and we went out for lunch. my dad wanted to go to an Italian restaurant, so my sis and I searched a nice one and we decided to go there. the restaurant was really nice!! we had pizzas and pastas on the patio we liked the restaurant very much and also an Italian waiter was so nice and funny we liked him after lunch, we just walked around and went from shop to shop. my parents did like Kichijoji and it seemed that they enjoyed a lot After our parents went home, my sis and I made takoyaki, octopus ballss for dinner takoyaki, small baked dumplings with bits of octopus in them are made from flour, eggs and water. "Tako " means octopus and "yaki" means grilled. you must try takoyaki when you come to Japan!! I do love it!!
<10/21>
I made blueberry pancakes for lunch I had to read books for my thesis... but I found that those books were not available at all!! so, i borrowed other books on Friday...
<10/23 yesterday>
my sis and I had Tandoori Chicken for dinner and we baked pumpkin pound cake for my parents
yesterday there were strong earthquakes in Niigata which is located in areas along the Sea of Japan. A moderate earthquake hit Tokyo, too. since our apartment (just in case, i live in Tokyo.) shook badly during the earthquake, my sis and I were in panic!! Unfortunately, 21 people in Niigata perished in an earthquake... I feel sorry for that. when I heard that a 2-month-old baby died because of shock of the earthquake, I had a big shock I'm still frightened by intermittent aftershocks following the main quake. we had small one just 1 hour ago. I have a heightened sensitivity to very weak quakes. Nowhere in the Japanese islands is quake-free

Yu came to my apartment on Monday and stayed over.
we rode in tandem from our uni to my apartment. it was really fun we were not good at riding in tandem but got the hang of it. After having dinner (we had nabe!), we watched TV and decided to go to a neighborhood convenience store to get ice cream!! but as a matter of fact, we got not only ice cream but liquors It was Monday night and we had to prepare for English speech on Tuesday, but we didn't care about it. we were like "Yay! T.G.I.Monday!!" crazy girls... anyway, we had a good time!! but mind you, speech on Tuesday was successful
my birhthday is coming up!! I'm going on 21 next Friday To tell the truth, I don't wanna be 21 I still feel like a teenager Well anyway I'm thinking about having my birthday party at my apartment. but I don't know what I should do since Japanese rarely party. i gotta think about it...

These pix have nothing to do with the content...
I cleaned my room, the kitchen and the bathroom today b/c my parents will come to my apartment next Sunday to bring a kotatsu, a small table with an electric heater underneath and covered by a quilt. When I was cleaning my room, I got a mail from Yu and she asked me if she could stay over at my place on Monday. good timing!! My room is clean, and the kitchen and the bathroom are also clean!! Of course I answered, "yes!!" I gotta think about what we're gonna eat for dinner tomorrow...

rice of new crop
|
|
Basically I have no class on Thursday so I went shopping It's a good change of pace. I was looking for a cute and warm blouson or jacket, and I found exactly what I need But the problem is it costs 17800 yen (about 170 bucks) It's not too expensive, but I have very little money now cuz I spent heaps of money during the summer vacation Anyway, I couldn't make up my mind whether to buy it or not, so I browsed through shops thinking of it for about 3 hours After a lot of hair pulling, I decided not to buy it today and to sleep on it Today I got a cute pink cardigan, and now I'm so happy!! Shopping makes me feel better And now, I decided to go and get the blouson tomorrow after school!! before school, maybe... Thanks to shopping I felt like making dinner Rice of new crop was delicious

nothing special...
|
|
I have nothing special to do today. What a dull day I don't feel like doing anything lately and all I do is thinking about my future. I know I have to think about it in earnest but... I feel gloomy!! Anyway, I made a brownie because I had nothing to do and was bored. I don't feel like taking a picture of it because of the feeling of enervation. So, I just took a pic of a box with my cellphone. I'm a lazy girl!!
Today I started my blog in Japanese It's only thing I did today, I think. I decided not to tell anybody about the blog. My sis knows that I started it, but I didn't tell URL or the title of my blog coz I want to have a space myself. I can say exactly what I mean or what I feel. I just want to put down what I think, what I feel as well as the ideas that I come up with. If somebody reads my blog, he or she may leave a comment like fotopages. Isn't it wonderful?
The blisters on my feet are still killing me...

TURKISH RESTAURANT
|
|
I went to an orchestral concert with Yumi and her friends b/c Yu belongs to the orchestra club and plays the cello I used to play the double bass in a high school, and the last number "3 symphonie en C mineur, Op.78 'Avec Orgue' " was the music that I played 3 years ago and that is my favorite, so I was really happy The concert was wonderful!! I did enjoy it
After the concert, I went to Shinjuku/ Tokyo and did some shopping, then I met my sis and cousin to have dinner My cousin took us to a Turkish restaurant and had delicious dinner I've never been to a Turkish restaurant and I've always wanted to go, so I was very pleased. We ordered 6 dishes The price was high, but my cousin payed all!!! Thanks!! I wanna go there again After having dinner, we went to a bar where my cousin really wanted to take us, but it was crowded. So, we went to a cafe and talked a lot. We were in Shinjuku until 11:30 and went home. We had a good time I'm so sleepy now. I have school tomorrow, tomorrow is a national holiday though. I hate my uni!! I don't wanna gooooooo

Tokyo Disneyland!!
|
|
My sister and I felt a sudden temptation to go to Disneyland, and went there yesterday. We used "After 6 passport" which can be used from 6 p.m. on weekdays. Now, Tokyo Disneyland special event "Disney's Halloween" is held from Sep 15 to Oct 31! That's why we wanted to go there. And also, the special christmas version of Haunted Mansion "Holiday Nightmare" is presented now. It bases on Tim Burton's film, Nightmare Before Christmas, so Jack Skellington who is the main character in the story and his friends from Halloween Town get together! We did enjoy it and love it It's worth a try!! We rode 6 attractions and had a great time. But to our surprise, there were many people in spite of a weekday. We thought there won't be many people because it's a weekday though... Most people there must have thought the same thing We stayed until 10 anyway.

dinner
|
|
My parents, sister and I had dinner at an Italian restaurant in the Hotel New Otani The restaurant is on the 40th floor, so we could see the night view of Tokyo. Unfortunately, it was not so beautiful because it was raining outside. The company for which my mom works invited her to dinner to celebrate 15th anniversary on the job I can't believe that she has been working for 15 years!!! Wow! So, my dad, sister and I went there together to have dinner The dinner was awesome I had foie gras, ravioli, tiger prawn with tomato sauce or stuff like that, pear tart, and cappuccino. I do like foie gras
The restaurant had an exclusive air, so I couldn't concentrate on taking pictures! I was ashamed to take pictures!! I took them by stealth That's why my food pix are so bad!! It's really too bad.
And also, we went to Roppongi Hills and Marunouchi Building before going to dinner. Both of them have lots of stores and restaurants, and they are kinda new. My sister will work at a company which is on the 26th floor of the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower! I envy her. Anyway, today I got dressed up for dinner! For a change, I wore pumps and a skirt The pumps I wore were new, I bought it 2 months ago though, so the blisters on my feet were killing me It hurts!!!

On the way to Japan, I stayed in Seattle with Yu and Noriko for 4 days. During our stay, we did shopping and met Yu's friends who go to a university in Seattle. They took us out to dinner and Yu, Noriko and I shared pasta, salad and cheese cakes We couldn't eat all though. After dinner, they took us to Queen Anne Hill and Alki Beach Park to see the beautiful night view of Seattle It was awesome!! They are sweet, aren't they? Besides that, they took us to some fun places and entertained us. We really had a great time together
I took most of the pix of Seattle with non-digital camera, so I have to put pictures on a scanner... I'll do it... Maybe in the future...
