I'm back  Actually, I didn't take a picture at all with my digital camera  Any time I went out, I forgot to carry my camera cuz my bag was toooo small...  So, I took some pix with my camera phone.

Mio is one of my best friends I got a mail from her around noon and she said "what r u doing? r u free? why don't you hang out with me?". Of course, I replied "YES!!" So, we went to Shibuy/Tokyo and did some shopping  We have been friends since we were junior high school students. Now we attend different uni and study different subject. She majors in dentistry while I major in linguistics!! We exchanged the latest news about ourselves and talked about uni, summer vacation, and... everything cuz the last time I saw her was about 4 months ago We talked a lot
We bought same PEZ strap holders which dangle from a mobile. We totally liked Dr. Skull

My sis and I met our cousin on our father's side tonight cuz she called me and said "Why don't we have dinner? I'll treat you.". So, we went to Kichijoji and had chinese food She is 13 years older than me, but she looks young!! After dinner, we went out to a pub for some drinks!!
We talked about many things like my family, her family, our relatives, jobs, a creepy dream she had (Gee, was I scared!!), pets that my sis & I want to have, what she has been doing lately and so on.
But we talked primarily about our roots!! This question has plagued me and my sis for years, so we asked her but she didn't know either. But we all think that we might have some non-Japanese blood in us. (we don't know tho ) b/c our gramma has a face with clear-cut features and our grampa had a strong face, their ancestor might come from southern part of Japan such as Okinawa and Kyushu, or have some non-Japanese blood in them There is no basis for believing that it's true, but another cousin looked like a mixed breed when he was little, and my dad looked like a Brazilian boy (like Ronald, a soccer player)when he was little...  anyway, we have to know our roots cuz we can't get out of our mind!! but I don't know how to trace our roots...
Anyway, we talked a lot and had a blast!!

それにしてもルーツが気になる。。。絶対南方系だと勝手に思ってる。だって、おばあちゃんもおじいちゃんも顔がはっきりしてるしこいし、彫り深いし。九州のほうには私の苗字の人が多い地域があるらしい。しかも私の苗字が町名のとこもあるらしい。ちょっと調べたら尾張氏族だかと同族のなんとか氏のなかに○○（私の苗字）氏と書いてあった。けどなんだかよく分からない。もしくは絶対日本人じゃなくってラテン系か何かの血が混ざってるにちがいない・・・。私の突拍子も無い考えは、出島とかが九州に作られた頃とかにきっとポルトガル人と混血したんじゃないかって考えなんだけど、かなり勝手な想像！！江戸時代とか明治時代にきっと何人か分からないけど混ざったはず。だっていとこの小さいときなんてほんとに混血の子って感じで、そのいとこの子供（今1歳？？）なんて外国人だから、顔。ありえない！なんでだろう。それにうちのお父さんだって小さいころロナウドに似てたし。。とにかく何かおもしろいことが発見されそう。でもどうやったらいいのか分からないし。とりあえず戸籍とか調べてみるのがいいのかな。。。

SUMMER VACATION!!

My parents came to my apartment today We went out for lunch and had Sushi mmm!!! I love SUSHI!! After my parents went home, my sis and I went shopping and I bought a toner, socks, some lottery tickets and blah-blah-blah. I spent a lot of money today...  oh well...
Do you know Tanabata, Star Festival? July 7th is called Tanabata in Japan. It's a Japanese traditional festival. People write their wishes on tanzaku paper and hang them on bamboo branches. We found a bamboo with a lot of tanzaku papers in front of a department store, so we wrote our wishes on the paper! Anybody who would like to write their wishes can do that and hang them. Our wishes are "world peace", and we found some wishes such as "Wish family's health" or "wish for a lasting peace". The cutest wish was "I wanna be ice cream." This boy is sooo cute!!!
After that, we went to "the village vanguard diner" which is famous for its hamburgers But we ate hot dogs

I've been really busy lately cuz I have to write my term paper and study Spanish  It's depressing... But summer vacation is just around the corner Can't wait!!!! And also my departure date to U.S. has been set! I'll take part in the internship program in Oregon, so I'll leave Japan on August 29th and be back on September 21st. I'll be there from 8/29 to 9/17 then go to Seattle and stay there four days and three nights with Yu and Noriko!!! I'm dying to go 
#1, 3, 4: my sis and I made 10 puddings on 7/11 and 7/12 cuz 5 or 6 eggs were past the use-by date!!
#2, 5, 6: sunday breakfast yummy! (7/18)

ahhhhhhh  It's too hot!! I'm boiling!! I know staying home is the perfect choice on a hot summer day, but I went shopping with my family  How stupid am I supposed to be??  no, no, I'm not stupid!! Because our parents came to our apartment today, my sis and I took them around. We are good daughters, aren't we? But in fact, we made them tired!! sorry, but it's not our fault!! The hot and humid weather really wore them down!! They really enjoyed shopping tho. We didn't buy anything, but mom bought a swimwear and dad bought a cap and short-pants at the NIKE shop. They do like NIKE... Anyway I'm glad they enjoyed shopping And, my sis and I bought cakes for my parents. The shop is very famous and mom has always wanted to eat the cakes of the shop, so we took her there! The cakes were really delicious

Yu and I went to a mexican restaurant in Shinjuku for lunch after the second class:-D As always, I had the usual, "Combinations A" and Yu ate... What did she eat?? I forgot... Anyway, after lunch we went shopping cuz most stores have big sales now  We didn't buy anything tho, but I was content to just watch
We did nothing but were totally tired... cuz it was mad hot outside  way too hot!!! I couldn't take it! Today was the hottest day so far... Then after shopping we went back to our uni to attend the meeting of the job hunting but was incredibly silly Yu, Miki and I said "For what purpose did we come here? What's it for? It was a total waste of time!!"  Oh no!!

My garamma went to Kyoto and gave us some souvenirs Thanks gramma!!
#1:"rakugan" is something like a sugar and flour mixture pressed into various shapes. I can't explain...
#2&3:"Yatsuhashi" is a soft cookie made of rice flour and cinnamon. It's hard to explain...
I love Yatsuhashi totally yummy
We got mangosteens and golden kiwi fruits from my mom. Thanks mom!!
I should have cut horizontally... the cut area looks weird anyway both fruits were delicious!!
